hey aaron. i am starting BMT on the 23rd as well. the water by far is my strongest point. I swim my 500 in about 8:30-9:00. I can swim about 60-65 meters underwater and do 50's relatively easy as well as hold my breath for 3 and a half minutes. I live next to hurlburt and a colonel here put me through water confidence training. My running is my weak point but that is my fault for being lazy. i ran a practice past last week and ran 10:32!! sucks i know. i busted my ***** the last week and yesterday i ran 9:59. i do my final test in a week. my cals are decent. on the test: 11 pullups, 54 pushups, and 69 situps. we need to push each other to go above and beyond and do extra Workouts before bed during basic training. look forward to meeting you and the team.

ive just been doing the Workouts in the airforce elite book .. i just took my final past test yesterday, i did pretty good. Id say swimming is my strongest too but im a good runner too, steven id workout with yall in basic, cause im not trying to get out of shape when im in there,, and i think they took out the 50 meter underwater so we dont need to train for that

yeah i've been training for PJ for about 13 months. prior to that, i was pretty much worthless in the water, not even being able to swim 2 laps without stopping. i've gotten better, swimming the 500 in 10:03. i can swim the underwater 25m easily but i'm struggling doing the 50m. do you guys know if they test the 50m swim in indoc or in pipeline? also, i'm pretty sure they test the "egg-beater" style of treading water so that you can tread with your hands up and out of the water. i really can't do this at all. i've researched it, watched videos, and attempted it so many times but i can't can't get it down. anyone with any additional info on that or tips?? leaving to bootcamp may 11th.

This is the wrong forum for your question Buckten. Attention to detail! I will answer your question anyway. To the best of my knowledge the 50m underwater is not an evaluated exercise, however 1:30 underwaters are and they are way harder than the 50m. The "egg beater" is the preferred method for treading water, but if you can keep your neck and wrists out of the water for the required amount of time you pass. If you know any water polo players, I would ask them for help. Not to scare any of you wannabe's but the PAST is the easiest thing you will do at indoc, followed by eval days.
