There's a scene in the movie where the Delta Force guy pulls the pins from his grenades and wraps the release mechanisms with rubber bands. Anybody know why he did this? I figure the same action required to remove the rubber band would equal the action of pulling the pin. Just curious...

I think I recall that in the book he was taping the spoons to keep the grenades from blowing up in the event a pin gets pulled accidentally while in the fray. Is this right?
