NP,
Apparently , yes you would. As active duty Marine, I have to wait until discharged, then talk to a AF recruiter. You will have to Take ASVAB, Physical etc., etc. TSgt Hicks advised me to e-mail him before going to MEPS. I guess he will then be able to smooth the process by working with the recruiter. If you are active duty or prior service, e-mail me, I have done quite a bit of research on this forum and believe I have a good working knowledge of the prior service process.

TE, do you or anyone else know the "official" word or policy on whether you must pick another job first before you can go into combat control?

Here is the official word:
A GTEP is a GTEP (Guranteed Training Enlistment Program)...PJ and CCT are GTEPs...guranteed...you do not have to pick a job and then "Go PJ/CCT at basic". You DO have to have a physical done before taking the PAST.
Feel free to have the recruiter(s) in question call me at DSN 574-8323 if they have questions.

Thank you. I think he knows all of this. He is just trying to tie me into the service in case I don't pass the PAST test. What he doesn't understand is that my mind is 100% on the CCT/PJ field so I can't find myself signing on and "technically" committing to another field.
Now, I scored a 56qt, 55G on my asvab so I qualify academically. I'm visibly fit, healthy, and well, lets just say that the #'s for the PAST test are easy enough for me to do them as a nice warm up. So I am guaranteed that I am ready physically as well as mentally.
However, when I told him I wanted a guarantee, he went to the flight supervisor who called me and told me that if I did not do it that way and refused to join, he would close the book on me ever joining the air force.
Now TE, I'm 24 years old and frankly, am tired of them treating me like a 17 year old trying to manipulate me into signing up for something else. But since his supervisor is playing the same game, I don't know who to talk to. []images/icons/mad.gif" border="0[/]

Try another recruiter and call TSgt Hicks. If you live in the City there are many recruiters around, I live out in the sticks and there are many around me, but find one who has a diff supervisor, b/c most time recruiters in the same area have the same supervisor.
