Any of the quality chain hotels will be fine in Fayetteville. The town of Spring Lake is closer but if you stay there, make sure you go with a hotel chain as the local no tell motels can be pretty scary.

Every Air Traffic Controller, and by extension, every Combat Controller is assigned "Operating Initials". When speaking on the phone or "shout line" to another controller the person initiating the conversation says his/her initaials to indicate they are done speaking. The other controller says his/her initials to indicate he or she understands and is also done speaking.
The initials are usually the first letter of your first and last name or the first and last letters of your last name, though you can use other letters. My initails are "MC" because one of my instructors, TSG Terry Ness, started calling me that at PJ/CCT Selection on my second team. I've kept them ever since.

I would try to stay away from Spring Lake (its not that great), it is closer though. Fayetteville is a little nicer environement though.

Note - I am not in the military. I have just live near Fayetteville and Spring Lake my entire life, and go there every single day.

JonN, After doing alittle bit more research I think I will go with the Cross Creek Mall area. What do you think?
MC Thank you for explanation.

The Cross Creek area(Skibo Road) is your best bet. You'll find a huge variety of hotels(Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, Comfort Inn, etc.) and restaurants. There are also a few hotels on Sycamore Dairy Road, which is close by the Skibo area.
