I am trying to find out at which point in the pipeline will my wife be able to move onto base. I understand that I will continue to have come in and out as I finish schools. However, I believe that I was told she could move to Kirtland as soon as I begin phase three, which I was told is after scuba school. If in fact she can do this will she be able to travel with me to medic school in NC? Any light that anyone could shed on this topic would be greatly apprecaited. We are hoping to have a better understanding of this topic so that we can have an idea of what the future holds. Is it for sure that schooling will go in this order?
Indoc - 10 wks
Airborne - 3 wks
Scuba - 4 wks
Egress - 1 day
Survival - 2.5 wks Thanks, 0717
HALO - 5 wks
Medic - 22 wks
Pararescue - 20 wks

I thought the order was:
Indoc - 10 wks
Scuba - 4 wks
Egress - 1 day
Airborne - 3 wks
HALO - 5 wks
Survival - 2.5 wks
Pararescue - 42 wks

All I've heard for this popular question is the only time you can really see your wife is when she is welcomed to live with you on base at kirtland.

Here is the order as it stands right now:

Indoc
SCUBA

PCS to Kirtland (upon CDQC graduation)

Then go TDY from Kirtland to rest of the pipeline schools, EMT-P at Kirtland, and the Pararescue 3-level awarding course at Kirtland.

I'm getting details which I'll post.

Just wanted to say thanks for putting up the info that you have on pipeline schools. My husband is in BMT right now, scheduled to go through Indoc starting Oct-7 (I believe). I WAS wondering about pipeline schools and what the situation was/is with me seeing/meeting up with him.

I was also wondering about the holidays. He's scheduled to be through with Indoc right around the holidays - do you know if he'll be allowed leave to come home for Christmas? Or will he go straight to Scuba school after Indoc graduation? Anyway, any information you can provide would be wonderful.

Most DOD schools have down time scheduled for national holidays and during Christmas/New Years, with a few exceptions. Seeing your husband will be, for the most part, catch-as-catch-can. ( I think that's how the saying goes.) Meaning, don't count on seeing him or him coming home for any of the holidays until he gets the official word from his supervisor/Instructor. If you go to see him while he's still in the pipeline it will be on your own expense as the AF does not have dedicated housing/billeting for the spouses of those people still in training, and then there's no garuantee he'll be able to get away to see you.

As you can see, until your husband is done with the training pipeline it will be tough to spend time together. As you're married already I'm not sure how that will work initialy with housing during his pipeline training. There is an indoc instructor who haunts the forum so he'll have the best info.

ps...feel free to correct any info that may be dated/bad

It is highly likely your husband will have some time to come home. He will have to use leave time but unless things have changed schools close during the holidays. I guess some instructors actually enjoy a day off. Although the leave wont be long you should get to see him. I was in an Air Force tech school right after basic and before Christmas and although they didnt tell us until the last minute we were encouraged to go home over the break (I think I got like 6 days). I believe we were encouraged to go home so they didnt have to come in to check on us. By looking at a Calendar you may be able to guess when he would be off. Just to let you know this was 8 years ago.

After training we typically could either have Christmas or New Years but not both, this way half the people would be around at all times during the holidays. However, given the OP tempo and job duty of the career field your husband is joining you will have to take what you can get.

Thanks for the info guys. Some time with him is certainly better than no time with him - so I'm thankful for what I will (possibly) have. I appreciate it!
