I have been looking at the Pararescue career field very seriously for several months now and have narrowed the go/no-go decision down to two factors: 1. Prove to myself that I can physically handle it. 2. Have my wife say, "Go for it."
The first is my own problem and has a simple approach.
The second is why I am contributing to this thread. My question is basically the same as jen's, are there any resources/forums/or just PJ wives out there who are/would be able to provide the significant other in a prospective PJ's life with a female viewpoint of what it is like to have your husband go through the pipeline. More significantly (since more time is involved) life as a PJ wife, what kind of support group do PJ wives form, or being the highly independent people the TE and others portray their wives to be, the question might be Do they form support groups at all?
We have read SMSgt. Brehm's excellent
book
, but wonder how the experience of this ANG Family that never moved from their hometown (at least not in the
book
) compares to the life led by AD PJ's and their wives/families
