I was wondering if anyone knows if this is considered a critically manned AFSC or not. I have been talking with an Operator over here and he said that the career field is only at about 60% manned. This leads me to believe it is undermanned, just like PJ/CCT, etc. I know my best bet is to check with MPF, but they are not always right, so I thought I would check here too. The reason I ask is because I want to crosstrain ASAP into SOWT, and if it is considered undermanned, then I can crosstrain at my 1/2 way mark rather than at my 59th month.

Yes it is a critically manned career field. I talked with our career assistance advisor the other day. If you look up the "chronic critial" listing which you can view in MyPers on the Portal, it will give you a current listing of current critically-manned career fields. SOWT is currently one of them.
