I. Live about 2 hours away on sc. I will definitely check this out! The weekend warrior thing, is there any way I can do it on a fri/sat thing instead of sunday? I got church on Sunday's and I don't train on those days. Also what time do they start? I work swings and sometimes don't get home until almost 0100 so is there a mid afternoon workout or is it just 1x a day thing? Thanks for bringing this over to the Carolinas, it was starting the seem like most things were over in Cali and nothing much on the east coast.

@mreay, We do offer a military rate for the Team Training Group and are always willing to work with candidates on financial issues. The Weekend Warrior Project is held on Saturday's and includes 3+ hours of various training evolutions. For SOF applications, it is recommended that candidates train with either the Team Training Group or enroll in the Immersion Academy. I will make a separate post on there particular topics.

Elevate Selection was designed to mitigate the challenges all wanna-be's experience: How do I train, is there a group I can train with, how do I conduct water confidence training, mask and snorkel recovery, log PT, buddy breathing, underwaters, rucking, ditch and don, swimming training, running programs, Crossfit, nutrition, cal. improvement, etc. As a prior PJ, my goals were two fold. Provide progressive training options, to all motivated individuals and send well conditioned, mentally tough, trainees into SOF programs. Our Immersion Academy is a 2 week, in house, all inclusive, recreation of the Special Operations selection process; culminating with a 48 hour hell night. This demanding course will push any athlete to their limits, while educating them about the rigors of military selection courses.(course dates: July 1-14 and Aug 1-14) Our Team Training Group, conducted on location in Charlotte, NC, is designed to mimic the selection process, on a daily basis, while providing the necessary instruction to proceed with confidence. Our SOF coaches educate trainees on proper technique, what to expect, tips for success and of course ball smoking strength, swimming and running WODs! Follow our free SOF oriented WOD's on Facebook or the website and please contact us with ANY questions, as we are more than happy to help you all succeed! TRAIN HARD, LEAN FORWARD, NEVER QUIT!

What's the cost of the Immersion Academy? And is there a particular SOF selection course it is modeled after (PJ indoc, SFAS, etc.)?

@ tsc2333 The whole purpose of the Immersion Academy is to increase candidate success rates across SOF and the DOD. This being said, our main focus is on areas of high attrition in these courses. Expect daily water con/swimming, calisthenic/functional strength development, fatigue and ***** situations to arise often. Every Academy will be tailored to the needs of that particular group...if there are 8 PJ/CCT/CRO or STO candidates in the group, it will be slightly different from a group comprised of 8 Ranger and SF candidates.

@ForFreedom The Immersion Academy and development course are NOT the same thing. The Academy provides training for all SOF candidates, we place a heavy emphasis on water based training evolutions and areas of high attrition from selection courses around the DOD. The idea, developed by prior SOF operators, was to equip candidates with the necessary education and experience, well prior to their arrival at selection. This will aid in candidates competency in all skill areas, confidence, cardiovascular/strength conditioning and above all, an idea of what to expect. Now will any of SOFWODs' courses ensure success @ selection, absolutely not! We empower motivated candidates with the tools to be successful. These tools should be applied, studied and implemented over a period of time much broader than 2 weeks to obtain proficiency. We like our graduates to lead from the front.

I'm more then interested in coming and doing the weekend warrior thing and by looking at the WODS Y'ALL post, what should I be able to at least do before coming out? So I'll be able to keep up a bit rather then be that one guy in the back everyone is waiting on...Im approaching my 5 year mark in the AF and I really need as much training as possible. I am wanting to Crosstrain into Pararescue and would train with y'all until I get yalls blessing on when i am ready. I know the weekend warrior pass is only for Saturday. I am able to get and really need training from y'all on friday and Saturdays. If you could shoot me a PM if we can work something out if possible. The water is my nemisis, treading water with hands up and doing short intervals with UW have always been a problem for some reason and with running long distances fast as I should be. After training, for what I would say as to long for where I'm at currently, I am going to humble myself and admit I can not prepare myself on my own as I hoped for. It seems for way to long that I was training all wrong for wanting to go into SOF and it's a mind blower once I realized that. It's almost like I have to start pretty much all over and do it right this time. Thank y'all or bringing this program over to the Carolinas. This program is definitely an answered prayer

We will make special accommodations to train any candidate who is truly motivated. We don't hold anyone to a standard for the Weekend Warrior Project, however to enroll in our Immersion Academy candidates much pass the PST and be able to HOLD a 9 minute mile pace. With all the preparation required to be successful at SOF selection, it can be very overwhelming. That's where our "been there done that" coaches come into play. I will shoot you a PM with details outlining your best training options.

Unfortunately we will not be running our July Immersion Academy, due to operational requirements of our coaches. However we can schedule some one on one training, which will mimic the Immersion instruction and intensity, prior to your July 19 departure. Send me an e-mail and we will sort out the details elevateselection@gmail.com

Pre-Cones, Our next Immersion Academy will be Dec 8-20 in Charlotte, NC. This course is designed and instructed by current and prior SOF operators, with the sole intent of making candidates successful at selection. EXPECT: Loads of insider information, technique instruction and experienced based mentoring in the areas of: Swimming, Finning, CSS, water Con. (buddy breathing, mask/snorkel recovery, 10-ups, under waters, treading H2O, Drown Proofing, Ditch and Don), Running technique/Programing, CrossFit strength clinics/WODs, Calisthenic Development, Real world smoke sessions, Open water swims, mountain training, mental fortitude, gut checks and a 48 hour ETD. Just got back from the Phase 3 - Immersion Academy. It was absolutely one of the best decisions of my life. I learned so much about myself, was pushed farther and harder than ever before, forged awesome friendships, was challenged more than I could ever do on my own, and was definitely prepared for whatever may come in the future. I highly recommend this for anyone considering a career in the SOF field or any job that is a high stress/challenge requiring team work, or even just for those hardcore individuals that like a challenge. Just don't break rule number 7!

I'm not trying to knock on your course at all, if someone wants to do it then go for it I'm sure it is great. But personally I don't want to know exactly what to expect or even have an idea of what to expect. Yea, you want to be prepared but the Cadre are there for that. Indoc is not the end all be all you're a badass for passing this. It is 10 weeks out of 2 years of training and after that you aren't proven, you are still green as ***** and you will never be fully prepared for whats going on. I guess I just hope people don't think that if they get through SOF WOD that they know what they are in for. I obviously can't tell you if that is wrong or right, just giving my opinion on it.
Once again, I'm sure it is a great course but remember nothing can prepare us for what we are about to face. Either you have it or you wish you had it, the only way to know is to do it.

McD, I'm active duty AF and am 3 days away from my window to retrain into Pararescue. I signed up for phase 1 last month and will be attending the June 23-24 class in Atlanta. I'm seriously considering the phase 3 program (01-12SEP2012) but am strapped for cash. What kind of payment plans do you fellahs provide? I can perform all the Workouts required to attend. Thanks in advance!

@Brain, no offense taken, but its usually a wise decision to only voice your opinion on topics you have knowledge of. i.e your not a PJ, you haven't been though the pipeline or Indoc and you have not attended any of our courses. We find your less is more approach to Indoc to be way off target. There is a reason the course has a 80-90% attrition rate and the best way to set ones self up for success is to research, educate and train to their highest ability. This is precisely what we offer, no super secret codes to success, just lots of tools for your box from the guys who have done it successfully. Furthermore, we do find that the Phase III course is an accurate indicator of future success or failure at Indoc.

AF guy here PCSing to Ft. Bragg real soon. After I take care of my initial training I may have to head out your way to give this a try.
And I fully agree with the statement you made. If anything, knowing exactly how to perform the action and having performed it will help subdue any doubt that people usually have when trying something for the first time.

I know McD and been to war with him. I work at Indoc. McD is throwing guys a HUGE bone by creating SOFWODS. Yes, we (cadre) are there to give men a chance to prove themselves, but it's a massive flaw to think we can give individual mentorship and training to every candidate. If someone wants to keep their head in the sand and not learn anything prior to coming to indoc, they will have to deal with that themselves.

I checked out the website and this seems like something I would like to do, though I'm not exactly confident in my physical abilities to be able to attend yet. My running isn't that great and im not much of a swimmer, but I would ultimately like to attend all 3 phases before I graduate highschool and enlist (1 1/2 years-ish). Any advice on how to prepare myself for the phases?(like working on the WODs and what not?)
