What's up guys just wanting to get some opinion on my current workout schedule.

Took the PAST a couple of weeks ago, numbers were as follows:

500 M swim- 8:53
1.5 Mile run- 9:44
Pullups- 10
Situps- 70
Pushups- 59

Now this was an "official" PAST given to me by my recruiter and a few others but for myself personally it was just a practice run because I'm not enlisted in the DEP yet due to needing a waiver to go through first.

My current workout regime is as follows,

Monday
I start with a 3500 Meter swim from a workout given to me on Swimplan.com, Next workout is the P90x Chest and Back which is really Pushup/Pullup heavy and I do this 3 rounds (video requires 2)and that's the day.
Tuesday
Again I start with the same swim routine of 3500 M, After the swim I jog a mile warmup to a near by 1/2 mile track and do a 20 Min fartlek run, following the run I do a mile cooldown back to the Y and finish with an ab workout I put together (various flutterkicks and random exercises I got from the Navy Seals training videos)
Wednesday
All speed work in the pool, 11 Laps of intervals first 5 in under 50 sec and last 6 are a gradual decrease in time, no lap being more than 46 sec. After the intervals I do a 500 meter time trial just to see where I'm at. Following the pool I hit the gym, starting with a Pushup/Pullup pyramid, 2 pushups for every one Pullup and I usually get to 20 pushups 10 pulls. Next is dips (3x15) and then pec dec machine (3x15). I end this with the P90x shoulder and arms workout.
Thursday
Back to the 3500 M swim, after is the mile warmup to the track and then 3 mile time trial followed by the mile cool down back. I finish with the same ab workout from Tuesday.
Friday
Same 3500 M swim, going right into 7 sets of 40 pushups and a bonus 8th set of max pushups. Following that is P90x legs and back and ending it is a quick shoulder workout.
Saturday
I workout with my recruiter who ran in the boston marathon so he usually kicks my butt pretty good for the day. This day has a little bit of everything in it.
Sunday
Rest day!!

Sorry about the length of the post but I was just hoping someone would chime in and maybe critique it a little, most of this is just things I threw together. Thanks in advance!

Ps:All Workouts are done in as little rest time as possible, the most I give myself is 60 sec. I even time myself from getting out of the pool and into the weightroom (no more than 10 min).

Ac,
Your scores are more than acceptable. Your routine appears fairly well rounded and should be more than adequate prep to begin the Pipeline. If you like what you are doing and are injury free, you can simply continue to train as you are.

If you want higher scores on the PAST or want to improved your ability to fin and don't mind giving up some endurance in the water, change your Workouts to specifically target the events of the PAST and add finning.

Your current workout is very heavy on distance swimming. 3500 meters is a pretty long way when you consider that the PAST is only 500m. I would reduce the total distance of your swim but pick up the pace a little (say 1500-1800 meters two days a week), do 2 speed days instead of one and consider adding finning on 2 of the easy days (work up to 1500m). I say this because your training volume is very high but your 500m swim pace is slow for the amount of work put in. Your training volume is at least twice as high as it has to be but doesn't focus on speed enough.

P90X is a good overall fitness program and your scores are perfectly acceptable; your pull ups and push up scores are a bit low for the amount of time spent training so if you want to improve them you will need to concentrate on them specifically. Spend a couple days a week working on failure sets of the cals instead of P90X. Consider doing them on Monday instead of P90X and again on Thursday instead of the 7 sets of 40 reps. Work up to between 5 to 8 sets of 2 mins on, 2 mins off on the failure Cals (pull ups, push ups, sit ups).

It appears you run three days a week, assuming you are running on your Saturday workout with your Recruiter. That is OK and your time is acceptable. If you want to get the time down even more, you may wish to do intervals instead of the three mile time trial for three weeks, then do the time trial on the fourth week. You can start with a total interval distance of 1.5 miles then work up to 3 miles, increasing the distance no more than half a mile each week. Not much point in doing intervals for more than 3 miles before entering the Pipeline. You can if you want but you'll simply be over training and could use the time better elsewhere or even resting.

These are all generalities and you need to look at your goals and abilities and determine if you want to make any changes. Your scores are perfectly acceptable and your training plan appears well rounded and more than adequate for physical prep to begin the Pipeline. You are focusing on Endurance more than speed and that is actually not a bad thing, unless you are trying to meet Ironman Standards and get an earlier shipping date. In that case, you should target the PAST events and distances more and focus on endurance a little less.

PM me if you want to discuss this in greater detail. I don't want to clog the board with a series of posts that mostly concern your particular situation. Also, that will allow me to get greater details on what you want to achieve, how much time you want to put into training, your training and exercise preferences, etc.

Guard, Thanks for the speedy reply! I've actually already taken your advice and dropped the swimming distance a little, I was choosing to swim this much because I've only been swimming laps for a little over a month and a half now. Luckily a buddy of mine is a former SOWT and he let me borrow a pair of his jet fins so I will start finning ASAP. I also agree with changing my running schedule up a little my goal is to eventually drop my run down about a min or more and get iron man. Also I should mention that I just started this program this week, taking the PAST was a suprise actually and I survived due to my prior working out. Again thanks for the advice Guard, means a lot coming from you.
