So I have been training for CCT for about a year and some change, and this Thursday am attending one of the Operation X events held by Rescue Athlete. I'm hoping to use the PAST assessment that is administered during the first day to submit my package. My question is how long does it normally take, if anyone would be able to answer that, for me to receive a class date? I'm a FTA and they are talking about deploying me here in the near future. So I was wondering if it would benefit me to go during the wait, for more training or to forgo and just wait.

Before you get a "class date" you will have to attend the Assessment course at Hulbert Field to be selected to enter the pipeline. Those classes don't start back up until the end of Sept., so you'll have to at least wait until than. After submitting your package to AFPC and once approved you need to provide your PAST test results& pass the Class III flight physical(which can take awhile to have those results submitted).Once they receive said items you will than wait for an assessment date. More than likely you still have a lot of time in front of you until you get a "class date", good luck.

So just to ensure and cement what you're telling me, I wouldn't be able to attend CCSC until September at the latest? If I may ask, why is it only being held around that time frame? Also, my package is complete with the exception of the PAST test that I will be taking Friday. While I was stationed in Germany I pushed for my Class III Flight Physical and completed the rest of the paperwork necessary, that way when I finally got stationed stateside I could just take my PAST and wait. So,

1)Wouldn't attend CCSC until the September time?

2)Will I have to complete my paperwork again if I were to submit it after my test on Friday due to the length of time I will have to wait until September?

Thanks for the reply as well, took a bit of weight off of my shoulders.

He's saying you wouldn't attend CCT RETRAINING ASSESSMENT until the end of September at the very earliest, after which if you are selected THEN you will be given a date for CCSC at a later date.

Opinion: The CCT Assessment seems more like a selection to me.

Ok, so now I'm a bit more confused. What is the CCT Retraining Assessment? Is that the 10 day course that evaluates whether or not you have the capability for the pipeline? If that is so, then what is CCSC? Because I honestly thought that was what that was. If anyone could shed a bit more light on this, I would greatly appreciate it.

Let me gather some more information from you.

1.You've gone on to AFPC and applied to retrain?
2.AFPC came back and said that you have been approved to retain?
-If yes than they should have requested you to do the Class III and PAST test and submit those by a certain date.

3.Due to a high wash out rate of cross trainee's they have created the assessment course to screen future canadites to make sure that the right people are entering the pipeline(Trevsbe it is a selection as is CCSC for new Airmen). You will have to attend this course in order to be selected to enter the pipeline. You should get a date once thee above is completed

These classes run from Sept-Mar. http://www.afsoc.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123243431

4.Once you have completed all of thee above, and you have been selected and only after being selected you will recieve a class date to CCSC and start the pipeline.

1. Yes, I applied while I was still stationed in Germany, and that was February of last year.

2. I was approved for cross training and was given the necessary documents to continue forward. But I was never given a date to complete them by. It only says as quickly as possible, but at that point I still had a year left on station. But I did get my Class III Flight Physical completed and the rest of the paperwork, and had to leave it at that because I was told that my PAST wouldnt have counted due to me being stationed overseas still. So it has only been until now that I couldnt get one completed.

3. I knew that there was a course designed to sift through canidates but Trevsbe almost had me thinking there was another course thrown in there. No worries though.

4. So just to make sure I understand, I can get my package complete and send it up, BUT the earliest I would attend the assessment course is September correct? Which afterwards, if selected, I would go on towards CCSC and the pipeline?

I was just making sure you knew the CCT RETRAINING ASSESSMENT isn't the same as CCSC.

Your class III is good for up to 2 years, you want to submit everything ASAP.
Just because there is a Sept. assessment doesn't mean you will fall into that class.

good luck
