DNQ, 25 or 26 is not too old. I joined at 25 and am 18 years into it. I can make it another 5 years, maybe more. Our Chief will retire with 30 years of service as a PJ just before year's end. Our CCT Chief has been in 24 years and will probably get to 30 years as well. I know one STO who was an enlisted CCT first, got out, did 4 years of college and came back as an Officer and is a STO now. He is at 27 years of service and will do at least 3 more, probably more than that. So, it CAN be done. Take your chances; you'll never know if you don't try.

i turn 26 next month and ship march 6 as a pj candidate and had the same question for my recruiter and he told me of many pj's he knew somewhat personally who started at my age, some even a year or two older and are close to the 20-25 year mark and are still swimming circles around 22-23 year olds. just to reinforce Guard MC's reply. all i know is that during the pipeline and after i put that beret on my daily prayer will be to keep my body together so i can keep doing my job because i honestly cant imagine a greater job, civilian or military...

25/26 upon enlisting! 25 be almost thirty something old maid status without no action guy experience. No wonder why you all are thinking about senior discounts and getting social security already. By age 25 I was a PJ for 6-years and already had an extra 10% in military retirement approved for heroism. Not to mention already a jumpmaster, dive supervisor, team leader and plank owning HART team member. Yep old farts have it good if they survive twenty or more years as an action guy, except for the old part.

Yukon says, "Yep old farts have it good if they survive twenty or more years as an action guy, except for the old part."
Yep,it sucks; but it beats the alternative!
