In 2008 I was at CCOC and I decided it was not the proper time for me to continue training. I understand the ramifications of my actions and all the scenarios that can be place on my choice, training is what it is, training, that’s where mistakes are made so they are not made on the battlefield. I decided to get out not because I did not want to be a Combat Controller but because I wanted to be an STO and lead some of the finest men in DOD. I got out and I went to College, I got into one of the best school in Maryland and I completed four years of school in two years time. This is not something that is impossible but I kept my eye on the prize and thought as long as I have a diploma this is all that would matter, unfortunately I was wrong. I found out the Air Force is now requiring all candidates for non-rated jobs to have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Normally a 3.0 really is not high and is not something to brag about but I don't have this. I have about a 2.5, the reason for this is because I overloaded on my credits and working full time did not help my grades either. Non-the less I did this for two years straight. I want to know is there anything the contacts on this site can do to help me waive this requirement. I was told due to the economic downturn this requirement was initiated because there were so many applicants who were applying. My secondary option is to take many of the classes I received low marks in over again. To get my GPA to a 3.0 would take at least another year. Financially I can’t do this and to be honest emotionally I don’t want to. Everyday I wake up thinking about this career field; every single choice I make from eating to entertainment is made with this career field in mind. If there is anything anyone can do to help please let me know. Thank you

FTP, The odds against you becoming a STO are great. First, I really don't think the AF is entertaining GPA waivers; why would they when they have MORE applicants than postions? What makes your case worthy of special consideration? Plenty of guys work their way through college and earn a 3.0 GPA.
Have you checked your re-enlistment code? The character of your Discharge and the circumstances will determine the code. You may very well not even be eligible to re-enter the USAF in any capacity; enlisted or commissioned
Second, you quit CCOC. Whatever the reason, you quit a school that is a cake walk for STOs compared to Phase 2 of STO Selection. That isn't going to be overlooked and is a serious strike against you. You would have to turn in the best STO Phase I Package on the planet and have some glowing remarks on your Form 125A (the form that tells the circumstances of your dis-enrollment from CCOC) to even be considered. Given the caliber of STO applicants, it will be very hard for yours to stand out, even without having quit CCOC.
I don't want to say there is no hope, but you've put yourself behind the 8 ball on becoming a STO. You may have a slim chance of re-entering the Air force as a GTEP in CCT, if you have great remarks on your Form 125A. If so, you may become a great CCT and MAYBE earn a chance at OCS and STO Phase II. The chances are slim but that is how I see it.
Good luck to you,
