Hey I was wondering what is going on with the 2010 PAST specifically for retrainees. I am in the process of putting my package together for retraining and I have printed the PAST Document off of my retraining checklist off the VMPF/AFPC website.

I have searched through the "Special Tactics Related Documents" and noticed there are career field specific PAST print outs. I.E. I noticed the CCT one has "Combat Control PAST Evaluation" at the header of the page. My question is that my "PAST print out" from the VMPF/AFPC retraining checklist says "Battlefield Airman PAST" at the top and the sequential order of the test is altered and contrary to the traditional PAST.. According to the document I have, it is telling me the following order of the exercises are:

Battlefield Airman PAST

- 1.5 mile run
- Pull up
- Sit up
- Push up
- 2x20 meter underwater
- 500m meter swim

I just want to clarify on this to make sure I am doing the exercises in the correct order for my retraining package.

Should I call AFPC and ask them if I should do the 1C2X1 Career field specific PAST in the order of:

2x20 meter
500 meter
1.5 run
Cal's...

Any input?

Does it say that the test must be conducted in the order listed? If not, expect to take it as listed in the CCT PAST on this site, which is up to date.

However, as long as the time limits are the same, there should be no problem with the order listed from AFPC...it should be the same, but if AFPC is giving you that then go with it...

Everytime I've taken the PAST it's been:

U/Ws
swim
Run
Pull-ups
Sit-ups
Push-ups
(Flutters used to be at the end)

And the last time (March) was at the STTS

To be honest I think it's mulitple AFSC generic exam from looking at it... It has the SERE 200 P/F first then on to the 1.5 mile run... After each exercise it states the time allotted for rest.

1.5 run
(10) min rest

Pull
(3)
Sit
(3)
Push
(10)

2x20 M
(3)inbetween, then 3 more before the 500
500 meter

completion

Either or you will just be alittle more winded when you do the underwater 20's but luckily thats the easiest part of the test.

TE, I will call afpc just to verify and clarify this is the right exam and in the correct sequential order the test should be administered.

Tell them the difference from the published official CCT PAST and have them talk to the CCT FAM at AETC if they will listen to you...he should be able to set them straight. He may have said no problem on the order of exercises also...

This might have been previously brought up but did they do away with the PAST "Point Scale"? Is there still a perfect score of 230 to be achieved? Or is it just a numbers game now, for comparison with others?

No point scale...if you make it, the operator PT tests all have point scales.

TE and others, Spoke with Chief Dixon today (CCT Functional) about the PAST issues. He verified that the "Battlefield Airman PAST" and its sequential order of exercises is correct for prior service and retrainees. He also said that there is going to be a meeting of discussion about this topic and whether the PAST should be the same for all applicants.

My educated guess was wrong about the AFPC having the wrong PAST document. It stands as is.

New recruits and Basic Trainees follow the traditional PAST

Prior service and Retrainees take the same PAST, but in a different sequential order.

1.5 mile run
(10 min rest)

Pull up's
(3 min)

Sit up's
(3 min)

Push up's
(10 min rest)

2x20 meter
(3 min in between sets, then 5 or 10 min rest before 500)

500 meter

Good news is my FC III is almost done and I am that much closer to getting into 1C2X1. Hard work, commitment and dedication pay off if you want it that bad.

I keep seeing/reading differant things about the PAST. Seeing on how I would be a retrainee, will i take the PAST that is in AFI 36-2626 Att. 11? Some clarification would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

No, you will take the one Persico88 posted above...the PAST in the AFI is way outdated.
