Hi,

Im new here. Im 21 and currently in AFROTC (Sophmore) and am interested in working towards becoming a Special Tactics Officer when i graduate.

Alittle history is (Im 6'1 BTW) I used to weight 310 pounds and didnt know what I wanted to do with my life. So I decided to cut everything and everybody off except my parents and lost 108 pounds in 13 months. I become 208 pounds and then I slacked off and got back up to 236. Now that Ive decided to go back to school and become an Air Force Officer Im back down to 20 but Im sure with me trying to get ready for Special Tactics Officer Phase 2, Ill get even skinner.

Anyways Ive read that I need to put in my packet in the fall of my Junior year (Nov 2011), so I have 16 months to get in shape. And my thinking process is that theres no reason to show up to selection and be happy making the minimums. I want to be able to make above minimums in all events before I turn in my packet, so I dont waste my or the cadres time.

Currently My Stats Are:
50 Sit Ups in 1 min
00 Pull Ups in 1 min
40 Push Ups in 1 min
1.5 Mile Run in 13 mins

In 16 Months My GOAL Stats Are:
100 Sit Ups in 2 min
15 Pull Ups in 1 min
80 Push Ups in 2 min
3 Mile Run in 20 mins
1500 Meter swim in 25 mins

Welcome. Good mindset to have on surpassing the minimum requirements, I'm training accordingly as well. Have you not started swim training yet I'm assuming since you did not include any times? I would suggest getting into a group swim workout at your gym if possible. I've been doing "Master's Tri training, and it's helped me tons just being around people more experienced than I. And congratulations on slimming down, I think you've got the discipline tools in your inventory already to be able to lose 108lbs. in a year.

p.s. what school you at??
