I would invite anyone with solid Pararescue training and/or experience to help in the development of an AFSOC approved screenplay project to be marketed and produced as a major motion picture. This is not going to be another GI Jane or Navy Seals type of film... the intent is to offer a realistic insight into one of the world's most challenging training programs... Pararescue. Please understand, without your help this project will not offer the public viewers an honest and truly first-hand gaze into your honorable field. Many thanks to all of you!
why or why not, should this film be made

Thank you very much for the motivation! I feel as though a few kind words go a long way when going after a goal, such as this screenplay project, and am grateful for you taking the time to express your feelings towards this project. I would welcome any questions or critical views you might think of in the future. Also, I wish you the very best of luck on your journey into the SpecOps community, as it will begin before you know it. Thanks Again -Todd []tmfair@zoominternet.net[/] [:"blue"] [/] [:"black"] [/]

[]nobody cares? [/] I believe it’s more like we’ve heard this before from others and most quickly lost what ever support they had from the community. You want lots of information without providing any credentials or portfolio of past projects. Lots of flimflam floating around in the screen writers community and I’ve encountered a few. I certainly am not going to get involved unless I have more background of the individual and company soliciting my time and efforts. How is the project going to become an AFSOC approved screenplay? Who are your investors, and what production is going to produce this screenplay and when. Writing a screenplay and sustaining creative control through to the end production is another matter. What is submitted to a production company is not what always comes out after the bottom-line is considered.

BTW--I would have voted, but the option: "No-not until I know the track record of who is soliciting", was not available.

I can't offer any help on this, but I would pay to see the flick, provided it has a good plot.

I would be very happy to send you any type of information I am able, be it even tangentially related to my request for information concerning the screenplay project. This information could include, but is in no way limited to, information about my education, work in the field, storyline, investors, research to date, approvals and authorizations, publications, and points of contact. However, much like yourself, I am not looking to put forth the effort without something in return. If you would kindly send me the exact questions, I will see to their prompt answers insofar as my power lies. Thank you very much for your concern and interest.-Todd []tmfair@zoominternet.net[/]

Thanx for the boost man! You're right I will not be able to give away too much; however, I am able to send enough out there so people can begin to have an understanding of all that is truly involved in SpecOps... especially without Demi Moore acting in the lead role.

Maybe I'm out of place with this. Have you consulted AF Public Affairs? I'm sure AFSOC has a liason that could probably assist in your endeavor. I see that you wrote it was AFSOC approved, have they offered assistance? Maybe even USSOCOM? Just throwing some ideas out there. Good luck and if your looking for a star, look no further. You'll just have to wait until I actually have some credibility, like say making it through. Oh what am I saying, I nominate the honorable administrator, TE, for the leading role!

Thanx for the suggestions man! Actually I am going through the USAF Entertainment Liason's Office in CA, as they were the door for my AFSOC approval. I have not yet consulted with USSOCOM, but thank you for the idea, and will look into the matter further. As for TE, who has already given me a few very big points I must consider with the screenplay, in order to mold it into a better piece, I am not too sure he would want the role if it were offered to him. Please understand... this script is still in the developmental stages, and as such is far away from any actor selection... although you have the right idea. In the near future, pending approval, I would like to put a short on the forum dealing with the WORKING storyline, opening it up for suggestions from all of you. Until then, take care, and may the best of luck come your way with training!- GrassyAss (Gracias) Todd []tmfair@zoominternet.net[/]

Sorry man, the script is still being developed and they will not be looking for any actors for until further down the line. To be very honest with you, the writer is very seldom consulted on any of the casting for a script they have created anyway. Believe me, if it were in my power, I would give a part to every fitting PJ, but I unfortunately cannot even think of making a hollow promise like that, having nothing to back it up with. However, I will keep you informed as to the total progress of this project, and could possibly even provide some points of contact for auditions, when it comes to that stage down the line. Until then, take care and my best wishes, please extend to you and your's. - Todd

are you planning on covering training or operational aspects of the pj career field? also how much is this project going to cover the history that has made the pj career field what it is today? what is your major reasoning for this project?

You could do a little of both like in Full Metal Jacket. Show the training then go into aspects of the actually mission.

I really enjoyed "None Braver" and would like to see something like the rescue missions involved, like the downed C-130. But im sure as a writer you can get plenty of fresh creative ideas. Just let us know how the progress is coming.

You should make it a love story. Let me be the heroic PJ stud, and let me go and rescue Jessica Simpson, who is an AF pilot of a new super stealthy jet that got shot down over Aruba. I'll save her from the Dutch dictator/terrorist that has her hostage. It will take alot of explosions and what not. Then we fall in love and she forgets all about that Nick guy. Vern lives happily ever after.

Things are going very well with the screenplay thus far. AFSOC/PA has just complied with a request for information in form of an interview with a SrA, who just became a PJ. I would be very interested in hearing from anyone who would be willing to answer the same questions as him... to get a broader perspective. I should have more information as to "Warrior Caste," and the overall progress very soon. Cheers!

"Warrior Caste" has been completted and sold! I would like to thank everyone for their input and assistance with this project. I have been contracted to do the rewriting for the film during preproduction as well, so things won't get twisted through the dialogue at least. If you guys have any questions pertaining to the film drop me a line. P.S. Thank you very much for allowing me to make use of this forum TE your kindness and consideration will always be remembered. -Fair

My recruiter told me that a movie is coming out about PJ's in the future, not sure if this is what he was talking about or not. He told me about it in Feb. or April. So I would assume that something is in the works!

He may be talking about "The Last Full Measure".

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0783640/

Its the story of William H. Pitsenbarger, Pararescueman and Medal of Honor recipient. From what I gather, its about both Pitsenbarger, who was orignally awarded the Air Force Cross for his actions in Vietnam, and the effort to get the medal upgraded to the MOH.
