As of Apr 1 2010, I am eligible to submit my package for cross-training to CCT. I am an A1C with 24 months time in service, with an updated and completely clear SWC/class III, PAST, and my first EPR will be submitted soon with a firewall report. However, after contacting Capt. Hicks, recently, it seems the 2010 slots may be nearly full, and I have a good chance of not being selected for a slot. Run and swim times on my recent PAST were 9:45 and 10:45 respectively. I have no article 15's or any other negative reads in my Air Force career. They only allot one package to first-term airman. If I submit and am not selected, I will not be able to resubmit for cross-training until I re-enlist. For this reason, I am trying to find all the answers I can and make an informed decision. Should I wait and try to get a 2010 slot to make better use of my one chance to submit a package? I have been waiting since 2007 and don't want to anymore. I know there are plenty of guys here who know how that feels and how bad it sucks. I would appreciate information and opinions from anyone knowledgeable on the subject, but am particularly looking for advice from the operatiors who may know my best course of action. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who may be able to help and I apologize for the long post.

I would say in your best interest to get a slot I would wait to submit your package in late Sept as Oct is the new fiscal year and new slots will be released.

As of right now there are 8 slots for First Term Airman as of the Vmfp. Its always easier to crosstrain as a first termer. Now, Capt Hicks would know what he is talking about. It seems to me that you have two chances try now as a first termer and then again when you reenlist since you wont be able to until then any way. Just make sure you have the heart to go threw and are working on those times.

Go to the ST documents...there is an entire package written by MC regarding the Kentucky STS ANG unit.

READ before posting.
