I've been hanging out here for a year now, and thought I'd finally make it official by registering. As a little background, I'm an Air Force dentist who went active duty about a month ago from the Air Guard. It was there that I first found out about CRO, and suddenly knew what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. Unfortunately, I already have a career and a less than enthusiastic wife, so the plans are on hold for now. My wife has conditionally given me permission to try out when our unborn baby is eight, and that's assuming the Air Force even lets me. (Col Breitbach tells me to keep my hopes up!) Until then, I'm the dentist who runs and swims every day to keep the dream alive. Thanks to everyone who participates here, it's a great site.

Well gentlemen, after much study and soul searching I realized that I was too far along in my life and current career to make such a drastic change. So I've pursued a different path, and this morning was notified of my acceptance to an AFIT sponsored Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency. (My wife was supportive of CRO, but is very relieved) Thanks to everyone for the knowledge and encouragement shared on this site. If you all bring our guys back, I'll help get them put back together. Take care and keep fighting the good fight.

Good luck at AFIT.

BTW, I was stationed with then SSgt Breitbach at my first assignment (McClellan AFB, Sacremento CA)...he earned a commission as a missleman I believe and eventually went CRO.
