Hey guys,

Right now I'm a Cadet in AFROTC, and if I continue along this route I would be training for a CRO spot. But after doing some research on this site, I think PJ might be the correct path for me.
The plan as of right now is to complete this year, as well as next year in order to get the equivalent of an Associates, then head out to Indoc. Or if things stay the same, i'll continue through ROTC and go for a CRO spot.

I really appreciate this website, it has already helped me out a lot!

Yeahhhh I’m still not sure yet, but from what I understand most of the main differences between PJs and CROs is that PJs are the guys who are involved with the medical stuff (which is more of what I’m interested in)…or better yet this is a quote that I found on this site earlier:

“Personnel Recovery is a mission area with 5 inter-connected execution tasks. PJs are focused on the extrication and protection (both medical and security) of personnel and material. Could a CRO do that, sure... but then why would he need to be commissioned? Simple, command and control during the mission, whether its in the terminal area as a ground force commander, in the air overhead as a recovery mission commander or in the ops center as the mission planner. CROs and STOs provide the one thing the enlisted force cannot - command responsibility” (PJ2PA)

But whether I go PJ or CRO, I know I’m training pretty intensely for it!
