I havent learned if I got selected or not, but then again my NCO has been on TDY and it might just be sitting in his email. Did those of you selected figure out your dates?

For those of you interested in this PDT I'll write up a report when I get back but for now here is a little something about what the schedule might look like...
"Your first week will be with the STO folks, and the second week will be with AFSOC. While the schedule is still being finalized, I can tell you I've seen events that include weapons familiarization, AC-130 Gunship orientation, MC-130 Talon II orientation, CV-22 orientation, SERE orientation and survival training exercise, and lots and lots of PT, special tactics, and AFSOC stuff which should leave you with a huge smile on your face at the end of the day!"
BTW are any of you guys 200s? Myself and another guy from my school both are so we will be heading to FT about 3 days after we get back from this. I'm happy it turned out this way because I think the PT at the PDT will be considerably harder which should prepare us nicely for FT.

Well it might be different between the two sessions but I got that information from our OIC. He's been sending out emails with status updates every now and then. That surprises me you haven't heard anything yet...

My question to all the guys who submitted packages, selected or not, is what were you guys times for the required events in the application? I'll be applying for this PDT next summer before FT and am curious how everyone scored?

Torch - I'm in the second session ewall - I might be a couple off but I think my numbers were 14 pullups 80 pushups 78 situps 20:10 3 mile 10:05 500m swim (I've never swam before starting to train for this) Just keep in mind it's not like your average PFA because the pushups and pullups are graded super strict, all the way down and all the way up, and also the situps are with your hands behind your head and your back must break a 90 degree plane with the ground.

Those are great numbers, why is the swim 500m and not 1500m like the STO P.A.S.T? That's interesting... I'm 20+ on the pullups, 80+ on pushups and situps, under 10:00 swim on a good day but the run is what's killing me, I'm working on it though... Have till next year to keep training continuously.. Anyone else got their numbers to share?

For those of you attending the second session, I highly suggest you come in shape. We had quite a few guys that couldn't even pass the initial PAST, let alone the STO/CRO test; even lost one to heat stroke. Considering everyone should be more than capable of passing, this was unnacceptable. Don't waste their time.

TE,
I think one of the biggest factors is that many of those cadets are Freshmen (rising Sophomores) and have never been introduced to anything remotely intense. They haven't even been to Field Training yet. And, Detachments really have no clue about any of these processes at all.
I, like many others, had to read up as much as I could on this site just to get a glimpse. Watching Rescue Warriors helped put a lot into perspective. But it wasn't until I started training with NickP, who showed me all the ropes from Indoc, that I realized just how hard I had to train.
Without going out and having it shown to you, I think the intensity isn't understood at the cadet level. You'll take breaks longer than you should. You won't push yourself because you don't know how hard you'll be pushed. Etc. Few cadets are lucky enough to have someone teach them firsthand how it is and then train together.
But that's what STACROC is all about, if I'm not mistaken. Trying to fix that stigma so that cadets can go back and prep the cadets beneath them. Since it's the first year, and if the Air Force continues the program, I think they'll get much better results each year down the line. I hope they aren't discouraged by this year and decide not to continue the program.
PS: I'm lucky enough that I live in FL during the summers, so I get acclimated to the humidity and heat. Every time I come back from TX, it's night and day when it comes to PT outside. I imagine that's also a huge suck-factor for most of these non-Florida cadets.

Save the lecture... Being capable of passing the test was a clear prerequisite.

Agreed with Fischer, you also had to pass the test 30 days prior to the first day of the PDT so that seems weird that there were so many failures. Do you think it could be the standards? Not to rag on the Det cadre but sometimes they don't understand how strict the form is for the cals. We are lucky enough to have one cadet who was picked up for STO this year and another cadet who made it through all of Phase 2 for CRO so they have been making sure we understand what to expect and how to do the cals properly.
