I know that after the Pipeline CCT guys PCS to Hurlburt for AST. But after AST how are you assigned to a team? Is it as simple as whatever team has openings to fill that's where you go? Or is it based off of performance evals, tests, Instructor recommendations etc...? If the latter is true, which team or teams are the hardest to get assigned to?

While at Hurlburt you fill out a "dream sheet" of your top choices of where you would like to be stationed. That sheet, along with everyone else's, is then compared with which squadrons have openings for which ranks.

Are there any squadrons that usually seem to have more openings than any of the others?

Is there any squadron that the majority usually put at the top of his "dream sheet"? Just curious.

It seems to me that most people put Hurlburt as their top choice. It could just be a psychological thing in that everyone has such a horrible experience at CCS (Pope) and then they get to Hurby with the beaches and girls and they feel like its a slice of heaven. Who knows, but I'd say more people put it as their top choice. Followed closely by Washington. I have no statistics to back those assumptions up though.

Is Lackland a choice picked by many? I'm from texas so I guess that's where I would like to be based.

I wouldn't worry about it too much Kaibil until you make it...you're putting the cart way before the horse.

Only unit in Texas for CCT is CCSC...selectively manned with rank/experience requirements which you will not have if you graduate...it could happen but very unlikely and not good for CCT to have a 3-level CCT teaching when he knows just about nothing.

I believe ya TE. I read it somewhere else that i guess Fort Bragg and Lackland were for guys with higher levels of experience and rank. So nah I figured it would be a while LOL. In my opinion yeah I would have some choices, but wherever I got based would be good. But even more importantly like you said, Gotta make it through first wink

New guy here. Currently active duty and taking a serious look at cross training into CCT. I was wondering if anyone knew what the current duty locations were for CCT. I've heard that they have changed from a few years ago. Thanks for any info

Choices are the same as they have been for years:
Pope AFB, NC
McChord AFB, WA
Hurlburt Field, FL
Kadena AB, Okinawa, Japan
RAF Mildenhall, England

An STS may stand up at Cannon AFB, NM in the next few years but you'll be informed when it becomes an option on your dream sheet when you graduate AST.

Thanks MC, That's excatly what I was wanting to know. I'm at Holloman right now and I kept hearing that Cannon had a CCT unit but I wanted to know for sure. Hopefully by the time I'm done with school it will be an option. Definitely not wanting Hurlburt, was at Eglin for almost 8 years.
