As my user name suggests, and just like probably the majority of new users, I am not yet in any special ops but that is ultimately my goal. I am taking some college classes and putting as much time as possible towards getting into shape over the next 1 1/2 to 2 years. Right now I'm 19 years old so I'm not in a big hurry, I'd rather wait a while and do it right than jump in right now and not stand a chance with indoctrination. I probably won't become a regular on the forum or anything but I have quite a bit of respect for you guys so I think even if I just make 1 or 2 posts you deserve to know a bit about me. I want to be spec ops for a lot of reasons, but the primary two would be that I've always been kind of a thrill seeker, I would take a job I love and believe in over money any day of the week if it means I can stay out of a desk job. That may change as I get older but it's certainly true now. The second reason is that I want to know that what I do is worth something. I want to do something meaningful with my life, something that not everyone is willing to do. Ultimately, and I hate how cheesy this sounds, but I want to help people. Which leads me to which position in particular I want. Pararescue stands out to me more than anything else because they're CSAR, and the good they do is more direct (as I understand it). But I still haven't decided which I would really fit into best yet, at the end of the day if can serve my country in special ops then it's just going be different levels of heaven for me, so I have some thinking to do still.
