A friend recently survived Phase II, and I am looking to buy him a knife that will hopefully serve him well as a STO for many years. My plan is to have a Bible verse laser etched onto the blade. I am looking for suggestions from Operators as to the size, type, and model of a knife that has been most useful to them over the years. I am partial to Benchmade because they seem to get great reviews, and I know that they do laser etching. Having used the search button, I lean away from pure combat knives, and I lean towards something with a partially serrated blade. Mainly, I just want to avoid buying a sharp paperweight. Cost is not a consideration. Thank you in advance for your response and thank you all very much for your service.

Signed, Someone who sleeps peaceably in my bed at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on my behalf.

ps. I am open to suggestions on the Bible verse, I am thinking Romans 12:20-"Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord"

Psalm 144:1, different translations, and you could condense them to fit if need be.

"Blessed be the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle"

"Blessed be the LORD my strength which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight"
