Hello everyone,

Recently I went onto google videos and saw a pretty cool video of the Jessica Lynch rescue! My question is who participated in the rescue? In the video I saw a guy writing what it looked to be medical records clearly wearing a PJ logo on his arm and helmet! But I read in some reviews and in the movie NBC creeated that the rescue was performedby SEALS and rangers? I was just confused cause I thought PJ's performed as a team but from the video it looked like there was one PJ and the rest seals or rangers?

Have you had a chance to read "Not A Good Day To Die"? That book alone is a good example of PJ's attaching to other units (in this case, a pair of PJ's and a CCT attached to a Ranger unit).

TACPs and CCTs are not always with other units...usually yes, but not always. If you're reading "attached" as "assigned", that is not the case either...both PJs and CCTs work with lots of other units...if they're attached, it's for a specific length of time...rarely, one may be "assigned"...but it's for specific postions/duties...

Do some research, that's as far as this thread should go.

The Jessica Lynch rescue was performed by a large task force including a Tier 1 organization (I am not going to say if they were Army or Navy because I can't remember now what has been officially released). That organization had both PJs and CCTs attached to them providing critical services in this rescue, and yes, you do see one of the PJs in the picture.
