We have been hearing mixed things about the 1500m Fin swim.

Is this to be done leading arm trailing arm (superman style)

or is it a freestyle swim with fins on. Or both?

Also snorkel is or is not authorized?

thanks as always guys!

AFI 13-219 is the governing document for CCT Evaluations, AFI 36-2204 governs PJ. SOWT is following 13-219, last I heard. You can google the AFIs.
AFI 13-219 and 36-2204 allow the snorkel and freestyle. That doesn't mean you get to use them in the Pipeline, though, as the AFIs only apply to qualified Operators. The Career Field Education and Training Plan (CFETP) governs Trainees.
I haven't read the CFETP for any of the careerfields lately to see what the PT standard is. I believe CCT and PJ Trainees can use the snorkel and freestyle stroke AFTER graduating SCUBA school but not before. That would be at Kirtland for PJs and after Phase I (Pre-SCUBA) at STTS in Hurlburt.

It's AFI 16-1202V2 for PJs...PJ related pubs available here:

http://www.e-publishing.af.mil/?txtSearchWord=pararescue&rdoFormPub=rdoPub

CCT/STO related pubs here:

http://www.e-publishing.af.mil/?txtSearchWord=combat+control&rdoFormPub=rdoPub

MC is correct...snorkel is optional for both and any stroke can be used for both.
