This is going to be a little lengthy, so please read over this before answering...
I am 24 with a college degree and have decided to go pararescue. I have no prior military experience, but have been talking with recruiters and doing my homework on this. My plan was to enlist in August while continuing my training for a year and then go PJ, but I spoke with a recruiter today, and she informed me that I would either have to go PJ right out of basic, or work at the job I will be trained for at least 3 years. Is this true, or would I be able to try out in a years time? Also, what would be a job that would benefit my PJ training once I get out of basic? I know that was long, but the answers I get here will determine my career path in the Air Force, so please be thorough.
