I played lineman in high school for our football team. We worked a lot of powerlifting and bodybuilding. Needless to say, I'm now pretty bulky. I've moved my crossfit Workouts to focus on metcon and disregard any heavy lifting within the program, but it's still too early to determine it's effectiveness.

Can anyone suggest any other training/diet methods of reducing this excessive bulk?

Gonzalez,
I am no expert or PJ or CCT but I thought I would reply to your post since no one else has. If you want to drop muscle I think the best thing to do is just not lift along with a lot of running and swimming. I know my roommate is a pretty avid triathlete and he bulked up in his chest and arms over the summer because he was just lifting and stuff like that. After the summer he started to train again on the bike and in the pool and after a couple months you could definitely tell he had lost mass in his chest and arms. I would say a lot of cardio with a little lifting (you don't want to lose that strength) and maybe don't eat like you used to when you were a lineman, but keep yourself healthy. Good luck

A couple of options present themselves. Since you have a powerlifting and CrossFit background and haven't stated a goal, I am going assume (it may make an a$$ of u or me) that you want to prep for the STO/CRO/CCT/PJ Pipeline and have a reasonable (greater than 8-12 weeks) time to prep. First option is just go with SOPWOD Workouts found on this forum. Second is to go with the "Guard MC Pipeline Train Up" found on the home page of this site. There are many other options on the home page and I could (and probably should) revise my train up, but this is a start.

Try the PAST and see where you are now. If you are lacking in any particular area, work on it first. If you lack in all three areas (cals, run, swim) then try a training plan that encompasses them all. As stated earlier, there are many to choose from on the home page and SOPWOD is available on the forums sections.
