Thanks for the info, after searching I did find the info I needed even before you put your post, but I only found info about my CC signing my Test that i'll take. The other ? I had was, when I take my PAST will it be the initial test for CCS or the PAST, I assuming since I'm a CCS wash out that's the one I'll take but I not sure. And about going to orietation course, or Keesler I'm still a little fuzzy? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

Go,

I am also an ATC guy looking to x-train. I have been working the issue for about 5 months and have a few good tid bits.

1-There is a specific PAST for ATC graduates. It is listed on the site under new past requirements on the CCT drop link from the home page.
2-You will probably go to TX for atleast a portion of the orientation. (probably a fitness eval)
3-Then on to Airborne, Survival, then CCS. Followed by AST (PCS to Hurlburt).

Hope this helps, good luck, hope to see ya there.

GO- Call TSgt Hicks 1-800-831-8723. You can't go to Keesler unless your unit funds it. you will have totake teh Keesler graduation PT test at Lackland to progress back to CCS. Look it up and be prepared, you know what's coming...

TB,

I tested my self on CCS standards, but I'm still lacking what I washed out for (sit-ups) any suggestions? I just got checked out @ Patrick Twr and I asked my chief contoller when would it be possible for me to X-train. He said, "I'm not going to spend a year on you and just let you go like that." I was kinda upset but I held it in. I wanted to see what were my options before I took action. So, if anybody is out that can give me some pointers please do.

Thanx, GO!

GO--
Because ATC is a chronic critical career field, like CCT, PJ, and a few others, you are limited in retraining out only as a first term Airman! In other words, you can only begin to retrain before you re-enlist, after that you are in ATC for the long haul.
So, get on the ball with the sit-ups and get your application moving.

tb - That is incorrect. 1C2X1 is a 518 AFSC, open to any AFSC regardless. Those fields are:

1C2X1 - CCT
1N3XX - Crypto Linguist
1T0X1 - SERE Instructor
1T2X1 - PJ
7S0X1 - OSI
8F000 - First Sergeant (only open to E7 & up)

I've got a friend who was just accepted out of intel into CCT well into his second enlistment.

TE,

What do you have to day about this? I mean I want to the job but is it really going to take that long. I plan on taking the PAST w/ the PJ team down here at Patrick, AFB next month and get my class III flying phy. before I talk to my CC, and I want to be able know if I can X-train before I do any of this.

Thanx,

GO

GO, read 36-2626 thoroughly, and you will find all your answers. the excerpts on this site for x-training are from 36-2626.. or go talk to your MPF.

Cool! Although I live at a HQ, it is not always the best place to get info! Folks I have discussed this with tell me that if a CC career field, then the member must get a waiver to retrain out (almost never happens), but if there is another category - I'll be looking into it tomorrow....
Since CCT is in this elite group - get with the training folks and delve into AFI 36-2626 (check for message updates also) and press on!

With note 518, you can x-train into these afsc's, even if you have failed at previous attempts.

With the note 518 you do not need a waiver to retrain out. AFI 36-2626 section 4.5.1.1.3:
