I supervise a SSgt that wishes to crosstrain into CCT. However, he has been in trouble in the last 2 years. An Article 15(DUI-0.05), loss of stripe(e-4 to e-3, now an e-5), 2 UIFs, and currently on the control roster(curfew violation) are on his record. How long does he have to stay out of trouble before he can even think about crosstraining or does his record make him ineligible to crosstrain? Will he have to wait until his next reenlistment (2 more years)? p.s. his EPRs are not bad(4-5s,and 2-4s)

Personally, I don't think CCT would want an NCO like that, but with all those problems, I'd recommend you contact TSgt Hicks, or your MPF crosstraining folks.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm noticing a small disparity between the lad's evals and his performance. Last time I checked, a 4 means a member is above the norm and ready for promotion, while a 5 means member is ready for immediate promotion. An article 15, UIFs (more than 1!!!) and being on a control roster show that this troop isn't meeting the standards (on a continual basis). I can't imagine any retraining board jumping at the chance to move this stellar performer.

A person cannot have two UIF's. They only have one. But when a person has one and then gets in trouble again the disposition date on the UIF (when it will expire) resets itself either from one to two years minus one day when the individual got in trouble. For him to cross train he would have to be either taken off the Control Roster by his Commander or wait till it expires. With him being on the Control Roster he can't PCS, TDY, be promoted, or cross train.

Slilock,
I interpreted Chiefmega's post to mean that member had one UIF, it expired or CO rescinded it and then sometime later was given another one. Regardless, the more I think about it, the less I believe that the author of that post is really member's supervisor.
