Well I lost my chance to be a CCT

Just got word from my recruiter that after taking the ASVAB, getting my physical, taking the PAST, and getting my whole future ready for this commitment I suddenly learn than I am not qualified for the job.
Seems as though my eyes aren't up to par for the job. Yet what really pisses me off is that I had gotten all of this ready last year at the end of my high school junior year and they tell me I can't do it when I am supposed to leave in three months. Couldn't thaey have told me this when I took my physical?
Also what I don't get is that aren't I allowed to go in if I can wear correctable lenses?
Well anyways farewell and maybe I can watch you guys training through a window or somethin while I am training in some boring *** job.

Hey, bro. I think what you need to do is go for a good 6 miler and then suck it up and fight your way in. Remember, this may just turn out to be part of your training, instilling in you the strength to never quit. Go fight about the eye requirements (if you really do fall within regs.) If that doesn't work, then request a waiver - you never know what might happen with the jobs being so undermanned. Perseverence!

If I've learned nothing else in my career, I've learned this:
NEVER, EVER QUIT NEVER TAKE "NO" FOR AN ANSWER NEVER LET OTHERS DECIDE YOUR FATE
Sorry for the all caps TE, but I am shouting, so I think it's appropriate. NE

Your recruiter is the first link in your chain and you need to start moving up links until you get some answers. Waiver, waiver, waiver...

definitely dude, don't ever lose hope... there's always ways AROUND everything. Tell us exactly what the disqualifying factors are. When you say your eyes aren't up to par, in what way? do you lack depth perception? is it your vision? color deficient? let it out and we'll be able give you all the information possible pertaining to your specific needs.

There are waivers for EVERYTHING...
Guy I know - Failed the eye exam for Airborne school, and couldn't get in to Special Tactics.
He joined an Army National Guard rigger unit, they sent him to jump school (their requirements are FAR less stringent). Shortly thereafter, he transferred back to the ANG, and is now on jump status and waiting to go to HALO school.
Since he was ALREADY QUALIFIED, the requirements were easily waivered.
I was in a helicopter accident in Panama in 1989. Crushed a disk in my neck, had it fused, and spent 6 months in the hospital. 6 months later, I was back on jump status, and less than a year later I went to HALO school.
Since I was ALREADY QUALIFIED, I was granted an indefinite waiver.
Never give up...

If you want it, fight for it. When I joined the Navy, they found that my liver was excreting too much bilirubin. This was nothing that would ever affect my life in any way, but it was disqualifying for Navy service. They started working on a waiver, but were dragging their feet. My Dad got pissed and started calling to yell at people, eventually working his way up to some LT in Miami(I enlisted in Florida). After yelling at him for a while, the LT promised to get right on it, and my recruiter called back within the hour, scheduling a time to take me to MEPS to finish the waiver paperwork.
Sometimes ya just gotta yell at the right person.

Now is the best time to start looking for Waivers or yelling at the top of your lungs to your local politician, CCT and PJ's are big time in the news and I bet you my bottom dollar that with enough yelling and screaming, you can get your waiver. Bottom line, dont give up. There is a reason we are all stop loss. Closing the door on a potential recruit is not the answer. Keep trying.
