I just thought of this, and I really don't intend to stir up any trouble, etc. Its just plain old curiosity. How do pilots (fixed wing & helos) treat the CCT community? Do they have a lot of respect for you guys, or do they really not focus too much on it except when the time comes? Like I said, just curious, don't mean to stir anything up, etc.
Matt

I dare say that most any pilot who has ever conducted a blacked out landing on a grass strip, relied on a friendly navigational beacon in hostile airspace, or needed real-time mission coordination with a ground commander would have nothing less than the utmost respect for combat controllers.
There are always those baffling anomalies, however. Just last year a C-130 pilot asked me why I wanted to go CCT. I told him it was because I wanted to jump out of planes, deploy with SCUBA gear, and coordinate airstrikes behind the lines. His reply gave me a slight twitch in my left eye- "Well Cadet Parker, you might want to reconsider, because that's not at all what combat controllers do". I was afraid to ask him what they did actually do.
I don't know if that helped you at all. But let me respectfully offer to you that your question is bogus. Maybe someone else will give you a better reply before TE presses the delete button.
Hooyah!

Whats the differance between a Pilot and a Bus driver?
Bus drivers are allowed to handle the money...lol
Just kidding the pilots that have worked with controllers have great respect for them the ones who haven't yet are usually clueless in regards to the CCT mission or controllers.
