7/14/2006 - WASHINGTON (AFPN) -- Air Force officials announced today the combat rescue officer and pararescuemen of the year.

The 2005 award winners are:

Combat Rescue Officer of the Year: Capt. Jose L. Cabrera, 38th Rescue Squadron, Moody Air Force Base, Ga.

Pararescue Senior NCO of the Year: Master Sgt. Douglas Isaacks, 342nd Training Squadron, Lackland AFB, Texas.

Pararescue NCO of the Year: Tech. Sgt. Steven M. Young, 24th Special Tactics Squadron, Pope AFB, N.C.

Pararescue Airman of the Year: Senior Airman Luis Garcia, 31st Rescue Squadron, Kadena Air Base, Japan.

The awards will be presented during the pararescue association reunion banquet Sept. 15 in Las Vegas, Nev.

Special Tactics Field Grade Officer of the Year: Maj. Michael Martin, 24th Special Tactics Squadron, Pope Air Force Base, N.C.

Special Tactics Company Grade Officer of the Year: Capt. James Alexander, 21st STS, Pope AFB.

Combat Controller Senior NCO of the Year: Master Sgt. Douglas Fenske, 21st STS, Pope AFB.

Combat Controller NCO of the Year: Tech. Sgt. Bradley Reilly, 23rd STS, Hurlburt Field, Fla.

Combat Controller Airman of the Year: Senior Airman Fred Baker, 21st STS, Pope AFB.

The awards will be presented at the annual combat control reunion Nov. 10 at Hurlburt Field.
