Hi All, I switched from the Army National Guard to the Air national Guard 2 years ago. I was a 68J in the army which is Air craft armament missle systems repair for the Cobra Helicoptor. SOunds like a cool job but when your unit doesnt have any Cobra helicoptors its pretty dam boring to inventory tool boxes for 4.5 years. I came to the Air National Guard because Active Duty Air force doesnt accept prior service. I have since found out that i could go AD as Pararescue, I have decided to train for triathlons to get into shape before applying. I went from beiang able to
swim 1 length in January to 1/2 a mile now. I made it completely accross the pool underwater for the first time last friday so I am pumped to apply for PJ. I even got my wife sold on the idea. I would much rather tell my daughter "Daddy saves lives for a career" instead of "Dad sells networking hardware from a desk 8-5 m-f"
