I was thinking about getting the Garmin Forerunner 205 and was curios if anyone has tried one, and what they thought of it?

I have the 201 and it works fairly well. Minor problems sometimes fixing satellites. Under heavy forest it sometimes loses signal. Have used it as far south as Texas and north as Alberta. JJ

I know this may be late but I bought my wife the 301 and like the 201 it sometimes has problems acquireing satelites. THe 205 and 305 are supposed to have better reception and both are water restitant- meaning you can do open water swims with them unlike the older 201/301 models. go to triathlete.com and use coupon code rookie and you should get a sweet deal.

I previously had the 201 and took it back because it stopped working while still in warrany. I now have to 205 and I love it. Gets much better satellite reception, and has more navigation features than the 201. The virtual partner is awesome when running for time. It also survived a cycle in the washer and dryer. VERY durable. Its hard to shell out that much dough for a watch thats so big and bulky, but if your a serious runner and hate being confined to marked trails you'll love it.
