I was just wondering if you're married mil to mil, how does that affect your pcs'ing to k-land while in the pipe? Say for instance if your significant others afsc is contracted out at that base. Also is it an option to have your family pcs'd to k land or mandatory. i'm not saying i don't want to see my family, just wondering!

Nobody will order you to move your family, it has always been an option for anyone in any service during a PCS move to bring their family with them or house them elsewhere (you just can't leave them in base housing at a base you are no longer assigned to).
Talk to MPF about joint spouse assignments if spouse is in the military. If not, you will have to make it happen for yourselves.

yeah she is military. My main concern is that if her job is contracted out, which we don't know for sure, will she have to stay at our previous base or will they pcs her and the little ones to the next closest base. We have a good thing where we are at now, and she is cool with the whole year long tdy sort of thing. But it would be nice to have them close!

All I can say is talk to MPF and your First Shirt. Between them, you ought to get a good handle on the situation. An easy way to find out if her job is contracted out would be to call the DSN Operator, explain that you are trying to get the number for the "insert type of Squadron/Activity here" then call and ask them the deal.
