Greetings everyone...looking for suggestions I don't really want to stop running but i'm having difficulties with my asthma lately. I've tried warming up prior to running in both cooler and warmer temps but right now can't run for more than 8 - 10 minutes, before I start wheezing. Fortunately I haven't had problems with arthritis in my ankles or planter faciatis...yeah sucks to be me... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

See a doctor. I don't mean this as a joke, I mean really go to a doctor for some help.

Obviously asthma is a limiting factor, but I've seen guys with asthma that could out run half the people in the Air Force, so it can be done. But in your case, Guard MC is right. I'd see a doc to make sure running is safe in you case.

As already stated, see a doctor. Also, as you're probably aware, certain triggers may be affecting you in the area you run...does this happen on a treadmill? If it only happens outside, it's likely a trigger, that may be avoided or mitigated...if it happens inside also, it may be exercise induced...the doc may be able to help in this case also. In any case, see one...you don't want to have an acute attack (no matter what the cause), and go down for the count...

Thanks, gonna try running at home this weekend to see if there's a difference or not outside. As for running on a treadmill I haven't had too much difficulty. You're right TE an acute attack isn't much fun...I was taking my annual PT test when the symptoms first appeared, needless to say I ended up needing a treatment or two after that. I've seen a doctor and they have me on meds for it, my idea of meds tho is take 50mg of suck it up..
