The New Balance shoe websites have some awesome general info on different types of shoes [ ex: made for high-arched ft, made for wide ft.]
But i wouldn't really count on another's opinion about a specific shoe to neccessarily work for you
-or atleast thats my opinion

Try taking your old running shoes to a good running store (usually "Footlocker" and such at the mall do NOT have the knowledgable staff you will need) and have the staff take a look at the wear patterns and how the old shoes fit on your feet. They will ask a few questions and from there, point you to some acceptable choices. The best way for them to really know what shoe you need is to look at your old shoes to see how your footsstrikes the ground. They can then look at your body weight, intended milage, running surfaces (roads vs trails, etc) and come up with a pretty good idea of what you need.
If you don't want to use a running store, try the yearly "Runners' World" shoe edition. They discuss in great detail many of the top shoes. Just use your old shoes to figure out your footstrike (pronator, supernator, neutral), if you need a wider or more narrow shoe, more arch support, a wider toe box, more support (anybody over 175 lbs usually does) etc. Then go buy a pair locally or from a catalog.

I went to a running store and they said it would be best to get a shoe that is stable. The store recomended the Hurricane and I was just wondering if anyone had had run with the Saucony Hurricane shoe. I am also looking at the Brooks Adrenaline 5 running shoe. It has good support and cushioning.

david4330, the Hurricane was my first "real" running shoe. I got myself a pair of Omni's after that, then went went to Trigons.. You're in San Antonio, head on over to Roger Soler Sports. Bring your current shoes, and they'll hook you up there. http://www.rogersoler.com/

In the Indoc warning order, the packing list says 1 good pair of running shoes. Does this mean any color brand you want,or is it like Basic and you have to all have the same pair?

Wear whatever shoes you want. As long as they are a good running shoe for your foot you'll be fine. "Bright and flashy" won't matter if you're kicking 6 on the runs.

Good luck
