Just had surgery on a toe which makes walking difficult at the moment let alone running. Looking for advice on keeping my legs/thighs/butt in shape. Thanks in advance.

I'm facing the same thing, well a foot injury and not surgery but I can't run for a month, maybe more. Ride a stationary bike or an elliptical machine. Try body weight squats if your foot can take it. Check out kettlebells, they'll help you stay in shape as you recover as well.

I had the same deal when I had a rod and a couple screws thrown in the left foot. The rod is gone, but I had to keep the screws. Try flutter kicks, leg extensions, ham curls, and hip abduction and adduction. I would think squats, presses and calves are out of the question. But the other exercises would make for good maintanace...might even help a bit.
