I believe that I've unfortunately injured my ISO Band by running in worn out shoes (I'm a cheap bastard).

Either way, other than icing does anyone have some remedies that I could try? I've taken off a week, and it still seems to start hurting after about 2 miles. It's hard for me to quit running (used to be hard for me to run) and I just don't want the down time.

Ideas?

Well, from PT central comes this impotant bulletin:

R.I.C.E.

Kinda hard to compress and elevate an ITB (wtf is an ISO?), so my next guess is rest and ice. You need the rest to allow time for healing. If you are participating in an activity that elicits pain, too late! Ice it down 20 min every 2 hours, rest it another couple of weeks, then start slow on the runs (not 2 miles).

Ah, the ever so infamous runner's knee! Kinda hurts a little bit, huh? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

The problem with you is that you're IT Band is too tight. So quit being so up tight... Cheap shoes wasn't the problem, that'll just hurt your feet. Check out the links below about this topic. They're hard to find topics.. Real good info too!

Like stated previously, rest and ice are very important. However, I'm a stubborn person too when it comes to being injured and do not want to quit training. Try biking around town or even using a stationary bike. When I got tendonitis in my leg, I couldn't run for close to a month, so I hopped on a stationary bike in the gym and rode it for the same amount of time I usually run. This didn't hurt my leg, allowed it to heal, and I still was able to keep my run time down. Hope this helps.
