I have been working my tail off for the past 8 months trying to get into the airforce and have hit a mountain of a road block. i refuse to take no as an answer, but that is the one the air force is trying to give me right now. if there is anyone out there that knows the ins and outs of the waiver system your help would be greatly appreciated. i will go to any lengths and do whatever it takes to make this happen. please pm or responed to me if you might be able to help. i would rather not post what the issue is so i will explain further at another time. thank you in advance, Phil

You have probably heard this but here it goes anyways. The USAF is currently under "Force Re-shaping" which is another term for cutting the fat. They need to lose an estimated 22,000 bodies and are even [:"green"] [/] paying people to cross-over into the Army. Now this is just a tip from you Uncle Larry, but with the current situation I can only assume that they will hold all applicants with the highest of standards and it will be very competitive for slots to BMT at this time. Keep up your attitude, you say you will do what it takes, then bug the living crap out your recruiter and his/her supervisors. Call, write, fax, e-mail them everyday about how bad you want to be in the USAF and they will eventually break. You will not find a loop-hole, you will either have to know some one to pull some strings for you, or make them so miserable that they will have to put you in the USAF (SEE ABOVE). If that fails and you still have that burning desire to serve your country, well I hear the Marines are always looking for a few good men... [:"green"] [/] [:"green"] [/] [:"green"] [/]

If you're afraid to post your "problem" in public, I'd suggest you move on...the AF does not need to grant waivers these days...there are enough people that do not need waivers to enlist...if you're interested in PJ/CCT/STO/CRO it may be a different story...I see no indication of said interest in your post...if you're not interested in the aforementioned careerfields, you don't belong here...if you are, you need to further explain your situation.

i was first disqualifyed by the meps doctor and surgeon gen., because my palms were sweaty during my physical. it drove myself 13 hours to see a specialist. i was able to get my medical waiver overturned. next problem, two years ago i got into a little bit of trouble. the first time i did the Morals Elligabillity they said okay, but my recruiter told me to to include info into my statement. well i did some looking into this and decided that since the job i want, CCT, calls for a security clearance i wanted to put everything out into the open. without throwing my recruiter under the bus i wrote a new admissions statement. i also added in with it letters of reccomendation from a navy captian, airforce lt. col., and the dean of my highschool, also past air force. all very good letters of recemendation. i met with the group commander and he said, he was impressed with me, and was recemending me. when the Col. read my waiver, she said nope. now for about the past year, i have worked way to hard to let this slip away. i have wanted to be a a special ops soilder since i was six years old, and my dad, came home from a navy drill weekend and brought home a BUDS warning order. now at twenty years old i will do whatever it take to get into the CCT program. i am sorry in advance for any grammatical or spelling mistakes, just zipped this off at work between customers.

Just for clarification, the Air Force is getting rid of 18,000 troops not 22,000. pb357 don't give up and keep on trying since there is a way around everything.

okay. today my recruiter got the write up on why i was turned down. my recruiter okayed the statement, his boss okayed it and his boss(Maj.) okayed it, and recommended but when it went to the top they shut me down. It turns out that since i wrote a second MED statement they think that i was trying to hide something, and they think i dont have the integrity that is needed to be in the air force. when in reallity my recruiter told me, we were not going to put the sealed information in my admissions statement. the original statement was read and i was cleared for meps. then one week later i was disqualifyed medicaly at meps. i then focused my fight to getting medical clearance. that took about three months. once i had the medical waiver overturned i had a meeting with the town judge (ret. JAG) and my father, we decided that it would be best to admit everything. my recruiter told me it wouldn't be any problem since when my medical waiver was turned down it was like starting all over again. well it looks as though he was wrong and it isnt that actual violation that i have, or the cut backs, but the redoing of the statement was the problem. now, throwing my recruiter under the bus, and putting the blame on him is not an option. does anyone have any ideas on how to go about getting this overturned. i think it was the the big, yellow, friendly cat in "American Tail" that sings "Never say never again," well that is my motto right now and i will not stop fighting.

I can tell you it won't get looked at again until 6 months have passed. I've tried in the past to get waivers looked at sooner than the required 6 months and it hasn't happened. If your waiver is going to the Group level it has to be what the Air Force classifies as a Category 2 Offense on a scale of 1-5, one being the most serious. In today’s environment those don't get approved very often. Your recruiter gave you bad advice on the situation. With computers almost any charge that you have been finger printed for will you up on your Security Check.
