take it from me and take the past test BEFORE you go to basic. the kids who don't take it in basic take it a couple of days before they start the orientation course. a lot of times what will happen is trainee's in basic will get out of shape then when they take the past test at the o-course will fail out on their swim or pullups or something stupid. so do it now while your in shape and come into basic gtep, i promise it will be less of a headache for you.

Doesn't everyone have to take it prior to orientation anyway, whether a GTEP or not?

Yes, they do, but if you are GTEP you don't have to take it in basic. Since you get out of shape in basic, as well as stressed and often tiems over tired (especially in beginning), you may not perform as well while taking it in basic. Some of the kids who took in basic also said they weren't given goggles and if you brought your own it was locked up in the civilian luggage room anyways and they had no access to them. When you get to Medina (where the CCT schoolhouse is, you get on pre-team where you train everyday for the o-course and it gets you back into shape, unlike the way you get in basic.

There is no "pre-team" for the CCT Orientation course...you're thinking of the PJ Indoctrination course Prep-Team...

If you don't know what you're talking about, DON'T ANSWER.

Per the CCT fact sheet:
PAST is good for an unspecified time, but all trainees must be able to pass the PAST on the 1st day of training at the Orientation course.
