I'm on my way to Kadena. Sorry, Jolly, but I won't get there until later this month. Anyone else, let me know.

I lived in Okinawa (on and off of Kadena) for a long time. Not only does the Base itself offer good training facilities, the Island itself does too(makes for a great run). They have pools on just about every base for Lap and some for general public free swim. Kadena had two operating when I left. They are the Kadena High School pool 25m ( by Gate 5)and the Hagerstrom pool 50m(if I remember correclty, this is located next to the Falcon Gym) It's real easy to get to know the layout of the Base, for general knowledge (finding places)and PT. One thing you should get used to before going to is the summer weather (pretty hot & humid) the rest of the seasons are generally comfortable. The primary and best gym on Kadena is located behind the Bowling Center (or on the road leading from Gate 1 to Gate 3, if that is easier for you upon arrival) Sorry I can't Remember the names of the roads, it's been a couple yrs since I tried to remember those.
