Well, I just hit my four year mark in active duty. I'm a S(Sgt) stationed at Shaw AFB, SC. I'm originally from the state of Maine, a two year college drop out, joined the military thinking i would do four and get out, but now i'm in for life or they'll have to kick me out. I love the outdoors, fishing, hunting, hiking. Why I want to be a PJ or CCT....I've literally been cutting boxes the past three years, and I spent my first year of the Air Force doing an M-16A2 detail which consisted of breaking down and cleaning many rifles. I'm a huge adrenaline junky and I love the military but I was getting burnt out of the Supply career field, because although we contribute to the mission I just couldn't see where us supply troops fit in. I was deployed to Pakistan a few years ago when I ran into some PJ's at the Chow Tent. I've read about them before but never really paid attention to the fact that we have true warriors out in the field. I saw men who were so confident of themselves and saw a unique bond between all of them. I instantly wanted to be "part of the team". I was considering retraining into TACP, but why give an airman a beer when he wants a keg? That's like settling for your hopes and dreams. I love to challenge myself, and knowing this will be probably the greatest challenge of my life, I am DETERMINED to be part of the team. After a year of training I'm scheduled to take the official PAST in two weeks.
