I've been in training over a year now for the PAST and the rewarding careerfield of CCT. I went to my MPF last week and they told me I can no longer retrain because I have a pending assignment. I told them that I wanted to turn the assignment down so I can retrain into CCT, and they said I may not be able to considering it is a special duty assignment I have. I'm basically not getting legit answers from the MPF, and no the assignment is not Korea. Does anyone have any input on this?

Go to your 1ST SGT immediately! Let your Supervisor know first, then go see him. I don't know all the ins and outs of cross training but I'd bet your First Shirt does. If not, he can get you straight answers.
Often MPF is wrong on CCT and PJ Retraining because the individual you have spoken to has not read all the message traffic stating the unique rules for CCT and PJ Retraining. I know, the MPF at Pope sure didn't have the latest and greatest back in 96 which is how I came to the Guard (Best thing I ever did, too).

Guard MC,

I just returned from Jumpmaster at Ft Benning and I met a reserve Force Recon Marine that is very interested in getting some information about the Ky PJ unit. He is currently in Hawaii but wants to "cross into the blue" and he home state is Arkansas so he is wanting some info on the 123rd. Can you send me some contact info that I can pass on to him by PM??? Thanks!!!

I was stationed at holloman for my first duty asignment and i had robbins AFB georgia on my dream sheet for CLSS witch is a speacial duty. I have only been here for 4 months and MPF said it would be no problem because i was within my window for x-training, and because CCT is criticly manned. hope this helps.
