I was curious as to how many remaining slots there are for x-trainees this year. I apologize if this has been answered in another post. I ran and search and could not locate an answer to my question.

To me the site doesn't help much. It's not real-time and it is only updated maybe once a week or every other week. I've watched it for a while now and my MPF always gives me a different answer. According to the site PJ is at 0. For the last month or so I've been hearing 2 FY04s are available for for first term airman. Also just recently I heard FY 05 dates have opened up for all first termers. Would anyone be able to confirm this?

so that being said, if I were to submit my x-train package sometime next month (I am a first term airman), I could conceivably not begin the O course til some time in FY 05

Since this is the CCT forum, its likely CCT.

There is really no way anyone without real-time access to MILPDS can answer these types of questions...your best bet is to work closely with your MPF, have your paperwork squared away, and be ready to move when the opportunity is there.

In other Bad news, the 123 STS can not send anymore Cross Trainees into the Pipeline this Fiscal Year, either. This does not mean we are not taking Prior Service applicants, as it takes 6-12 months to complete the process. It does mean that we could experience a back up in the future.

Yes I am speaking of CCT.... I'm assuming the 123 STS is the training squadron at Lackland or am I wrong? From all this I have gathered that it could be over a year before I even depart for the O Course.... It may be wiser to go PJ

No, the 123rd STS is an ANG STS unit in Kentucky, Guard MC is one of the operators...as he says, different procedures for ANG/AFRC guys.

It would not be better to go PJ if all you're looking at is slot availability...I believe there are still CCT orientation course slots available (GTEP and X-trainee)...PJ indoc course slots are few and far between...

But like I said...until you get with MPF, its all, for the most part, conjecture...

I submitted my cross training paper work and within two weeks I had a slot and was at Orientation course and am now at ATC and already have my dates for Airborne and CCS, so dont believe them if they say there are no slots, because someone could fall out of something and you could be next in line, so dont get frustrated just keep training and put in your package and see what happens. You could get lucky.
