Not really asking a question here, am just wondering if my situation sounds normal to anybody.....as far as shin splints go, the only thing that really seems to help dramatically is a nice new shiny pair of shoes. My speed is good. I'm not worried about making times, but I'm sure I wont be able to decide how often and how far to run during the pipeline. I seem to beat shoes down very fast, a pair of shoes every month and a half or so. I leave for indoc. in a month so it's getting too close to crunch time to start "training" myself to be a runner. Does my situation sound normal to anyone? I'm kind of sweating this, but I would feel better if I knew I wasn't the only one....

Where is the wear pattern in your shoes?

CK-
Not really sure what's going on here. All I know is if I don't buy a new pair every month my shins start to hurt like a b**ch, on the lower inside part of my leg beneath the calf muscle.

I hear ya, but it would help if you could describe to me how your shoes wear. More inside of heel or outside of heel.

Sounds as if you may need to see a doctor that specializes in runners. You can get info from a good running store, or club. They should know.

Changing shoes often is good. Once a month is a little quick, especially on your wallet I'm sure.

Is the wear going to be noticeable on the outside of the shoe soul? If so I'll take a look and see what I can find.
