I'm having trouble pacing myself. I can run the 7 min miles on a treadmill but I'm having trouble on the street. It's hard for me to gauge my pace. If anyone can help me out. Thanks

I have found that pace becomes way less of a concern if you do at least one interval workout a week. Among other things, these get your legs used to a pace faster than the one you will need to maintain for the 6-miler, and this enables you to pace as fast as your aerobic endurance will allow. In other words, on long runs you run as fast as you can the whole time. The intervals will teach you what it feels like to cross the anearobic threshold and you will thus be able to pace as fast as you can on longer runs while avoiding crossing it (which is basically what makes you tire out and stop).

Use a chronometer on a track. Take your desired mile pace, divide by 4 and that's what you should run your 400's in.

that sounds like good advice; but when we head to lackland nmintz, just try to keep the same pace as the rest of the group <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />
