Combat Control Apprentice Course
Course Description:
Qualifies officers and airmen as combat control members. Includes training in communications, land navigation, assault zone operations, demolitions, small unit tactics, and field training exercises.

Prerequisites:
Enlisted/officers completed the Combat Control Orientation Course ; officers complete the Air Traffic Control Officer Course; enlisted complete the Combat Control Operator Fundamentals Course, followed by the Combat Control Operator Tower course; enlisted/officers completed the Airborne Parachutist Course, Underwater Egress Training, and Combat Survival Training.
Quota Control:
Must be able to pass entrance, mid-course, and exit course physical fitness performance appraisals during course. Physical fitness performance appraisals are as follows:
COURSE ENTRY:
Push-ups (56)
Sit-ups (67) Pull-ups or Chin-ups (9) 3-mile run in 23 minutes 30 seconds 1500 meter swim with fins in 34 minutes and Rucksack march 3 miles in 45 minutes.
MID-COURSE: Push-ups (60) Sit-ups (71) Pull-ups or Chin-ups (10) 3-mile run in 23 minutes and 1500 meter swim with fins in 33 minutes.
END-COURSE: Push-ups (64) Sit-ups (75) Pull-ups or Chin-ups (11) 3-mile run in 22 minutes 30 seconds 1500 meter swim with fins in 32 minutes 30 seconds rucksack march 15 miles in 5 hours Successfully complete (unaided) 90% of the obstacles on the CCT Obstacle course.
Descriptions of correct performance of exercises are contained in the US Army Field Manual (FM) 21-20. Failure of the physical fitness test will result in elimination from training.
Uniform Requirements:
Personnel must possess their authorized clothing issue from basic training and PT gear from ATC school. It is highly recommended that personnel bring two additional sets of BDUs and well broken in jungle boots.
